Cleethorpes Rugby Club - Events
FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Membership
Membership for 09-10 is now due (£30.00). The clubs membership year will now run from 1st September to 31st August. Anyone failing to renew their membership after 1st December will no longer be a member of the club. This allows all members a fair opportunity to collate monies owed. It was also decided that players failing to meet this deadline may not be able to play until an attempt to pay had been met. This means that any players wishing to play, that have not paid there membership by November, need to approach John Grey (Membership Secretary) or any other committee member & make an offer of payment that should be mutually agreeable. New players/members will be given approximately 2 months to pay membership or make offer of payment or the afor-mentioned will also apply.
Junior Rugby
Cleethorpes Rugby Club is now benefitting from a second season of junior rugby after being re-established at the beginning of the 2008-09 with the long-term aim of building on the success of both senior first and seconds teams. Following the resurgence of rugby union in the area, the success in developing the club has enabled us to launch a full structure to offer interesting coaching, where children will learn to play Rugby from the age of 6 through to 16. Our Mini and Midi sections operates mixed boys and girls sides from under 7s to under 12s and each player is provided with a playing shirt for games. Boys and girls play tag rugby at U-7 and U-8 level with contact rugby - under a very controlled and safe environment is introduced at U-9. from there on, year on year, different aspects of the game are introduced to make the game more challenging for the players, and builds their confidence slowly until such time that they are physically able to play the sport in all its elements from rucks to mauls, contested line outs/scrummages and kicking the ball inopen play & conversions.
Under the supervision of our RFU Qualified coaches up to level two standard, they will have fun, meet new friends, keep fit and healthy, develop a team spirit in a safe and well structured environment. Why not be the next Danny Cipriano or Lawrence Dallaglio or be a future Cleethorpes Rugby player, join Cleethorpes Junior section and enjoy the excitement and rigours of this fantastic game.
The rugby season runs from September through to the end of April. Training is on Sunday Mornings with games throughout the season you could be representing Cleethorpes home and away. The highlight of the season is the attending the county festivals in March and April and the club's own end-of season awards event. Fun events are organised for the players throughout the season: Hallowe'en and Christmas Party's at Lucarly's are enjoyed by all and the club is organising a Coaching masterclass trip to Leicester Tigers in April 2010.
Player registrations take place ideally in September but new players will be welcomed throughout the season. The sport of rugby is growing and Cleethorpes Junior Rugby provides fantastic fun for all, whether you are participating or a spectator.
