| Welcome to Cleethorpes Rugby Union Football Club Mini/Midi Section. Mini/Midi Rugby Union is split into 3 stages, and all stages are designed to introduce Rugby Union gradually until the full game is played on a full sized pitch at under13’s age group. Stage 1 Under 7’s and 8’s play Mini Tag Rugby where tackling is replaced by ripping a ‘Tag’ from a belt. Stage 2 Under 9’s and 10’s play Mini Rugby where tackling is introduced along with line out and scrums, which remain uncontested at under’9s level. Stage 3 Under 11’s and 12’s play Midi Rugby where at under12’s age group the size of the scrum is increased to 6 players. The Mini/Midi section of the club fields teams from under 7’s through to under 12’s. Re-introduced in 2008, all of our coaches are at least Level 1 qualified and are CRB checked. We are a rapidly expanding section of the club and our doors are always open, to new players and experienced players alike, so if you have an interest in Rugby Union why not come down and give us a TRY ! Our season begins in September and ends in May, and training sessions and games are on Sunday mornings from 10am until 12pm; new players are welcome throughout the season. |
